Dundee manager Tony Docherty emphasizes the importance of strengthening the club’s relationship with its supporters this season.

“We have clear goals for the season,” Docherty stated.
“There are two cup tournaments we want to excel in, as well as the league.
“Our primary aim is to secure our Premiership status and nurture our bond with the fans.
“That connection was vital last year.
“The new players we’ve signed will excite the fans, and we aim to strengthen that relationship between the team and the supporters.”
Docherty assures that his staff and players will wholeheartedly embrace the derby, as they strive to start the season with a significant victory.
“There is genuine excitement,” he added.
“I’ve lived in the city for two decades and understand its heartbeat.
“It’s fantastic for Scottish football and Dundee to have the derby back.
“There’s a buzz from our strong league cup performance.
“These are two major institutions – two historic football clubs.
“A few weeks ago, driving to work during the Euros, everyone was talking about the derby being Scotland’s opening game.
“It brings immense exposure, and we are ready to embrace it.”
