It is said that Sandro Tonali would have £11 million “suspended” from his income while he serves a 10-month ban for breaking Italian betting regulations.
The Newcastle midfielder’s attorneys have agreed on his sentence for his covert football wagering habit while he was a Brescia and Milan player. The suspension will terminate in August, immediately following the commencement of the 2024 Premier League season, and Tonali will be permitted to train with Newcastle throughout that time.

Thursday will see the announcement of the penalties reached with Tonali by the prosecutor’s office in Turin. Tonali entered into a week-long plea agreement, during which he acknowledged his wrongdoings and his addiction to gambling.
Due to Tonali’s statement, his willingness to undergo therapy, and his attendance at meetings with Italian youth teams and local associations, his four-year suspension was lessened.
Tonali’s punishment was half for cooperating, reduced to 18 months for providing proof, and his playing ban was imposed at 10 months plus an additional eight months of “alternative” sentences.
On Wednesday night, Tonali participated in his final match of the season, substituting for Newcastle in their 1-0 loss to Dortmund. Eddie Howe has stated that the player will be at Newcastle for the long run and has given his complete backing.
Newcastle spent £55 million for Tonali from Milan in July; the club has not yet stated if they will pursue legal action or continue to make transfer payments after purchasing a player with a troubled past.
According to reports from Italy, his “salary will be suspended,” which would provide Newcastle with the cash flow to sign a successor in January. England midfielder Kalvin Phillips of Manchester City has been connected.
