But Jesurun Rak-Sakyi was always believed to be next on the loaned-out list and it was even reported that he was determined to leave this summer.
Now, it seems the exciting winger has made up his mind on where he will be heading for the 2024/25 season.
Despite QPR looking like the favourites to sign Rak-Sakyi this summer, it has now been reported that he has chosen another option.
It comes according to a report by Football Insider, Rak-Sakyi has now agreed to join Sheffield United this summer on loan.
A full agreement has been reached with Sheffield beating QPR, Leeds, Hull and Watford to secure his signature this summer.
For Rak-Sakyi this will be a huge chance to impress in the Championship with regular first-team minutes.
Dean Henderson had also told Rak-Sakyi to join Sheffield United, which we imagine might have played a role in his decision-making.
After the arrival of Ismaila Sarr, the writing was on the wall for Rak-Sakyi with an exit almost inevitable as he would not get the minutes he wanted.
However, this loan could be excellent for him as it will see him in a team which we expect will be among the front runners for promotion.
This in theory will give him the platform to showcase his attacking ability and hopefully score some goals before returning to Selhurst Park ready to play a role next summer.
