Wolves’ Superstar Dominates Brentford in 4-1 Win! The £30k-a-week Player’s Unstoppable Performance Unveiled

Wolves have enjoyed their best win of the season tonight in the Premier League, beating Brentford 4-1 at the Gtech Community Stadium.

It was a rather frenetic game down in London, with Wolves able to punish the hosts for their defensive sloppiness.

Wolves old boy Nathan Collins had a game to forget, being responsible for two of Wolves’ goals. The central defender left Molineux in the summer after just one season at the club.

Hwang Hee-chan grabbed two goals tonight, with his first an absolute gift from a Collins back pass and his second really well taken.

The South Korean forward was forced off just before half-time though with an injury.

Brentford showed intent at times in the second-half, but Wolves grabbed a goal late on through Jean-Ricner Bellegarde.

Joao Gomes absolutely bossed Brentford in 4-1 Wolves win

There were quite a few fantastic individual performances tonight for Wolves.

Hwang was very, very good before his unfortunate back injury.

Bellegarde put in a solid cameo display and took his goal well, and Rayan Ait-Nouri was absolutely tremendous at times with his dazzling feet.

The three centre-halves were also very solid in the second-half.

But Joao Gomes was potentially Wolves’ standout player tonight in midfield, putting in another colossal performance in the space of just a few days.

The £30,000-a-week Brazilian covered every blade of grass and just made life so difficult for the Brentford midfielders.

According to Sofascore data, he made a staggering 10 tackles tonight, with Brentford’s Vitaly Janelt making the next-highest number in the match with only four. Gomes also completed 38/47 (81%) passes, and contested an incredible 19 duels (another match-high), winning 11.

Like against Chelsea, Mario Lemina got a goal and therefore there will be a lot of praise for him tonight, but Gomes was an absolute warrior.

    What a prospect

This was perhaps not as comfortable a win as the final score suggests, but Wolves did fully deserve the three points tonight.

And what a player Gary O’Neil has on his hands with Joao Gomes.

The youngster known as ‘The Pitbull’ – described as ‘a super talent’ by O’Neil earlier this season – is seriously finding his feet in English football and looks every inch a top midfielder now, as he comes up to his first full year in the Premier League.

The way he plays is brilliant to watch. That aggressive and tenacious style makes him very easy to get behind, and one would imagine he is an absolute dream to share the pitch with.
