Booker led the Suns to a 4-0 record this past week (Nov. 20-26), while averaging 30.3 points, 7.8 assists, 5.3 rebounds, 1.5 steals, 1.0 blocks on 48/43/90 splits. This is his eight career conference player of the week honor, the most in franchise history
Booker was nominated for the award last week, but did not end up winning it. Thus week he won it over Anthony Davis (LAL), Anthony Edwards (MIN), Paul George (LAC), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (OKC), Jerami Grant (POR) and Brandon Ingram (NOP).
The Suns have won seven games in a row, and it’s no coincidence that all seven have been since Booker returned from injury.
On the year Booker is averaging 29.4 points, 8.9 assists, 5.4 rebounds and 0.8 steals on 50/44/92 shooting for the 11-6 Suns, who are currently in third place in the Western Conference.
Both Booker and Kevin Durant are firmly in the early MVP conversation and could continue to be mentioned for this award as long as they play at least 65 games this season. This means Booker could only miss 10 more games this season (has already missed eight).
Booker and the Suns next take on the Toronto Raptors Wednesday night to wrap up their three-game road trip.
