Jack Macrae has voiced his feelings about leaving the Western Bulldogs, declaring, “They’ll regret letting me go, I promise.” Reflecting on his time with the club, the three-time All-Australian admitted he felt “neglected” as he found himself on the sidelines and out of his preferred midfield role.
In a recent interview with Channel 7, Macrae shared his enthusiasm for his new opportunity at St Kilda, hoping to reclaim his best form. “I told Ross [Lyon]—I’m not here just to pad my super. I’m here because I believe I can get back to top-level football,” he stated confidently.
Despite the bittersweet exit, Macrae says there’s no ill will, even receiving a positive message from coach Luke Beveridge after the trade. As he prepares for his 250th game in 2025, Macrae aims to bring leadership and experience to St Kilda’s midfield, where he’ll help guide younger players as they push to rise up the ladder.
