A Green Brigade banner has been spotted in La Liga as the ultras group continue to be locked out of Celtic games.
The hardcore fans’ group have been offered support from other fan sections from around the world after Parkhead chiefs moved to ban them after an escalating rise in incidents. They were a hotly-debated subject at last week’s AGM and they welcomed Brendan Rodgers’ team off the team bus before Saturday’ lacklustre draw with Motherwell.
As Cadiz hosted Real Madrid in a major La Liga clash for El Submarino Amarillo, Viaplay cameras picked up the Celtic ultras group’s banner and logo as Rodrygo put Carlo Ancelotti’s side 1-0 up. Jude Bellingham added to the scoring in the second half alongside Rodrygo taking his tally for the day to two in a comfortable 3-0 goal. But it was his first effort that unveiled some support for the ultras group in Glasgow’s east-end.
Rodgers noticed the difference in atmosphere at Parkhead with the Green Brigade not in their North Curve rail seating section during the 6-0 win over Aberdeen. And there have been no indications that the stand-off is going to end anytime soon.
