Sevilla are set to be without three key players for their trip to Arsenal in the Champions League tonight.
That’s according to The Standard, with the outlet claiming that Sergio Ramos is set to be among the absentees for the La Liga outfit.
Arsenal have injury problems of their own heading into tonight’s clash at the Emirates Stadium. Indeed, Gabriel Jesus remains sidelined while their skipper, Martin Odegaard, is expected to miss out.
Eddie Nketiah also faces a late fitness test to find out whether he will be involved, leaving Mikel Arteta short of options up front.
Of course, the Gunners picked up a 2-1 win in Sevilla last time out in the Champions League thanks to goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Jesus.
It proved to be a stern test for Arteta’s men last month, but the La Liga outfit will be missing some of their key players tonight.
Three important Sevilla players will not participate against Arsenal.
According to The Standard, Sergio Ramos, Marcos Acuna, and Orjan Nyland are all anticipated to be out tonight.All three players started in Arsenal’s 2-1 win at the Ramon Sanchez-Pijzuan Stadium last month.
Nyland has been ever-present for the Spanish side between the sticks, while Acuna provides an experienced option at left back.
As for Ramos, he needs no introduction as a legendary defender and previously ‘world-class’ operator.
It will be a huge blow for Diego Alonso to be without three key players for a difficult trip to North London.
While Arsenal haven’t been at their best of late and have suffered back-to-back defeats, they have performed well in the Champions League.
Arteta is in a similar boat, as he will be without Odegaard and Jesus this evening. But a win would take Arsenal one step closer to qualifying for the knockout stages.
