Legendary Celtic star Scott Brown is allegedly thinking of making a dramatic comeback from retirement by playing in the Scottish Professional Football League once again.
The Scotsman reports that Brown, who retired from playing and took on a managerial role at Fleetwood Town in English League One, is currently without a club after leaving Fleetwood in September. The former captain of Scotland has been linked to the managerial position at St Johnstone, but he is reportedly training with Scottish League Two side Spartans FC.
His last professional match was more than 18 months ago.
While he is a member of the Spartans’ youth team, Brown’s son is reportedly seriously considering a comeback to the game, his main objective is still to pursue a prosperous managerial career.
In the event that Brown were to put on his boots one more and onto the field again, it would undoubtedly be a spectacular return.
He played in the David Gray Testimonial a few weeks ago, so it’s obvious that he’s been taking care of himself. Still, it would be a significant improvement from the physically demanding League 2.
