Ryan Jack has enjoyed something of a renaissance under Philippe Clement after spending much of the season sitting on the bench for Rangers.
This hasn’t affected his international status though with Steve Clarke remaining loyal to a player who was key to getting to the European Championships in 2020/21 only to cruelly miss out through injury.
What Ryan Jack has to do now though is focus on his club football as he looks to win a new deal at Rangers with the combative midfielder putting thoughts of Germany to one side, for now, as reported by STV News.

Jack, alongside John Lundstram, has been pivotal in recent games in the absence of Nicolas Raskin.
The perception that he is injury prone is being dispelled within the walls of Ibrox this season with his lack of minutes down mainly to selection rather than availability issues.
The question is, is it enough for Ryan Jack to be offered a new contract by Rangers boss Philippe Clement?
Speaking after the 3-3 draw with Norway, which brought to an end a successful qualifying campaign, Jack responded to a question about the competition for places ahead of the tournament in Germany next summer:
“We all go back to our clubs. There is obviously a lot of football to be played, everyone will have a lot of big games to play from now to then.
“It is always at the back of your mind. You are never going to just forget what we have achieved.
“It is going to give everyone motivation to play well, to play consistently for their club and do everything we can to be part of it.
“It has been a great campaign. We qualified with a couple of games to spare and that has not been done for a long time.
“We wanted to go out with wins but at the start of the campaign the most important thing was qualifying and we did that.”
Can Ryan Jack end season on a high for Rangers and Scotland?
If Ryan Jack stays fit for the Rangers squad then he has to be on the plane to Germany.
Clarke has a selection of number eights to choose from but few players can match the defensive output of the Light Blues midfielder.
At 31-years old, this is probably Jack’s last chance to play in a major tournament given his injury history but he will also have one eye on his place in Rangers squad.
Philippe Clement has said he wants players who are robust and Ryan Jack can hardly be described as that recently, however, Rangers need home-grown players too.
It may be that his form for club and country is enough to earn a new deal until a signing policy to bring more Scottish talent like Lennon Miller to the club is successful.
On current form though, there would be no need for sentiment.
