Reading Football Club will keep their much-loved record points haul for another year after Leicester City lost at Millwall on Tuesday night.
The Foxes were able to reach 106 points before the Lions beat them 1-0 at the Den, the same number of points accumulated by Steve Coppell’s Royals side in 2005/06.
Staying unbeaten for 33 matches, scoring 99 goals and being promoted before the clocks were moved forward for British Summer Time, Reading remain the greatest side to have graced the second tier in the last 18 years.
This topped off a good evening for Royals supporters with Ruben Selles’ side beating Bristol Rovers 2-0 at the Memorial Stadium to take another giant leap towards securing safety in League One.
