And it has been a real team effort, with almost all of the squad playing a part in the recent upturn in form in all competitions.
One player who has, however, watched on from the wings is Robby McCrorie, with the goalkeeper yet to make an appearance for the Gers this season.
In fact, the shot-stopper has only lined out for the Scottish giants on six occasions; four times last season and twice the season before.
Featuring heavily at the tail end of the most recent campaign as Allan McGregor’s spell at Ibrox drew to an end, McCrorie may have expected to start in between the sticks this time around.
But the arrival of Jack Butland in the summer transfer window completely disrupted his plans, with the former Crystal Palace and Manchester United man taking over at the helm. And despite the Gers competing in various competitions, McCrorie hasn’t been handed a single minute of action.
Scotland boss Steve Clarke will be well aware of the ongoing issue at Ibrox, although he did call up the Rangers man for the current international break.
But it was Hearts ace Zander Clark who was given a start for the game against Georgia on Thursday (16 November), with McCrorie named on the bench alongside Motherwell’s Liam Kelly.
But at least one member of that trio is certain to be axed for future squads given that the injured number one Angus Gunn will undoubtedly return next time out.
With Scotland already confirmed their place in Euro 2024 next summer, McCrorie must seriously consider his Rangers future, with a spot in Clarke’s squad very unlikely if the player continues to warm the bench at Ibrox until then.
