Player Confirms Shocking Transfer from Wolves to West Brom

Muhamed Diomande has confirmed his move to West Brom after leaving Wolves in the summer.

The 18-year-old has linked up with the Baggies’ under-21s squad for the upcoming season, and has signed on for two seasons. He had a trial match at the end of April and did enough to impress academy bosses to earn his first professional contract.

In a post shared on his personal Instagram account, the young centre-back said: “Happy to have signed my first professional contract.”

His post had two photos, one with him on his own where he is signing his contract, along with West Brom’s shirt for the 2024/25 season. In the second photo is a representative from Prodigy Sports Group, the agency which represents him. They have players such as Omari Kellyman and Danny Welbeck on their books.

As he shared the news, some of his former teammates and associates wished him well. Wolves goalkeeper George Hardy said: “All the best bro.”

Diomande was on trial at the same time as Edward Jones, who was released by Everton this summer, but he remains a free agent. Jones also featured for the under-21’s team in a Premier League 2 match against Leeds United.

As for what happened to the other player that Wolves let go from their under-18’s this summer, Dominic Plank has joined Scottish Premiership side Hearts. Plank has linked up with the Edinburgh side’s development team.

After signing Plank, B Team head coach Liam Fox said: “As for Dom, he’s different to the wingers that we already have in the squad, which again gives us something good. He’s great with the ball at his feet, has good balance and very good close control.”
