During this two-game span, the Eagles defense has struggled, and their offense has continued developing a turnover problem.
A recently-shared video showcased a drill at practice where Jalen Hurts practiced falling without fumbling.
After seeing this, Craig Carton believed that Hurts was embarrassed by the team’s insistence on this drill and even more embarrassed that a video surfaced of this exercise.
Carton also said, “All of the guys in the locker room know the head coach doesn’t believe in him. If I’m Jalen Hurts, trade me.”
Whether this is a commonly shared sentiment remains to be seen.
Carton’s comments are largely speculative, as nothing has surfaced from Hurts’ Eagles teammates about this type of culture within their locker room.
Plus, it would be difficult for Hurts to be traded, even if it was something he requested.
Hurts signed a massive extension in the offseason, trying him to the Eagles for the foreseeable future.
While he might be frustrated with recent events, he is an Eagle and likely will be for a long time, pending an unforeseen change in regime.
Can the Eagles recover from this social situation and bounce back from their consecutive losses?
They need to keep winning to try and secure a first-round bye in the playoffs.
At the very least, they would hate to surrender the NFC East to the Dallas Cowboys, which is a real possibility
