Crystal Palace have been linked with a sensational move for Chelsea star Raheem Sterling.
The 29-year-old has been frozen out by manager Enzo Maresca and stripped of his No7 shirt.
The England international is currently seeking a move away from the Blues but wants to join a club in the Premier League.
Recent reports suggested Palace have shown a transfer interest in the winger amid links with Aston Villa.
In a recent interview, the Eagles boss Oliver Glasner heaped praise on Sterling and called him a ‘fantastic player’, but he brushed off the speculation.
Glasner said (as per Edmund Brack): “You can name 20 players from Chelsea because they have a big squad. Raheem Sterling is a fantastic player, but it doesn’t mean he will be a Crystal Palace player. He’s a great player but I don’t know what will happen with him”.
Crystal Palace have seen some high-profile departures from the club this summer.
Michael Olise joined Bayern Munich in a deal worth around £50.8 million before Fulham completed a £30m move for Joachim Andersen.
Jordan Ayew has left to join Leicester City, while Marc Guehi could also end up leaving in a big transfer to Newcastle United.
Despite the outgoings, Palace have only brought in Chadi Riad and Ismaila Sarr so far.
Oliver Glasner has done a fantastic job since taking over the club as manager in February. The 49-year-old deserves good backing in the summer transfer window.
They could sign Sterling who would be an excellent addition for the Eagles. He is a top forward and boasts a lot of experience at the top level of football.
But any deal for the 29-year-old is expected to be complicated as he has three years left on his current deal worth more than £300,000-per-week.
