Danilo has shared a positive Rangers injury update as he told fans it’s ‘time to come back stronger’.
The Light Blues hitman suffered a knee injury in the away win over Hearts at Tynecastle and it ended up requiring the £6milion summer signing to go under the knife to rectify the issue in a real blow to Philippe Clement and his squad. The summer recruit has already spent a period out with a fractured cheekbone that required him to play in a mask on his return to action.
Now he will spend MONTHS on the sidelines with this latest issue. His Belgian boss already stated his desire to add further firepower to his frontline in the January transfer window and those plans could now be escalated due to his absence. Cyriel Dessers has stepped in and scored in the win over Dundee before a brilliant moment of magic in Seville to beat two defenders and nutmeg the goalkeeper in a historic 3-2 win to secure top spot in the group and direct entry to the Europa League last 16 stage.
It’s a blow for Danilo as he missed out on that occasion and will be absent for the Viaplay Cup Final showdown with Aberdeen and Old Firm battle with Brendan Rodgers and Celtic at the end of the month. But he’s kept fans updated with his progress as he shared a video to his social media from his hospital bed and told followers: “Hey guys. The surgery went well. I just wanted to keep you updated.”
He then shared a further message from home that read: “Back home. Revalidation starts now. Time to come back stronger.”
