The Dutchman chose his legendary countryman as the player who has influenced him the most in an interview with Italian channel DAZN, via FCInterNews.
In an Inter shirt, Bergkamp did not exactly leave much of an impression.
Similar to Klaassen’s summertime departure from Ajax, the Dutch striker moved. After enjoying several good seasons with the Amsterdam giants, he did so in the summer of 1993.
Bergkamp donned an Inter shirt for 74 different occasions. He played for the team for two seasons.
And the Dutchman did succeed in giving Inter 22 goals.
Of these, eighteen occurred during Bergkamp’s rookie campaign with the team.
In addition, Bergkamp ended his rookie campaign with a trophy when Inter defeated Austria Salzburg in the 1994 UEFA Cup final, a match that the Nerazzurri won.
In actuality, though, the time did not quite live up to expectations.
Injuries and poor form severely limited Bergkamp’s effectiveness, especially during the 1994–1995 season.
And so the Dutchman left. In 1995, he signed with Arsenal.
Bergkamp rose to become one of the Gunners’ all-time best players there. While living in North London, he won multiple FA Cup and Premier League titles.

When questioned about which player in the game he looked up to, Klaassen said that player.
The midfielder for the Nerazzurri squad at the moment, Bergkamp, was named as his greatest inspiration.
The 30-year-old former midfielder for Werder Bremen and Everton named Dennis Bergkamp as his favorite player.
He said, “He was my childhood hero, and he was really cool.”
“When we lost the title on the last day of the season [with Ajax],” Klaassen recalled when asked about the most trying time in his professional life.
Regarding the three attributes that characterize him as a player, the 30-year-old stated, “I know how to score goals, I work hard, and I work for the team.”
