Two men have been charged with the theft of former Newcastle Knights star Millie Elliott’s NRLW premiership ring.
It follows a police investigation into an alleged break and enter at a local property last month, which also netted handbags, bank cards and cash.
The NSW and Australian representative prop, who claimed this year’s crown with the Sydney Roosters, turned to social media to locate her prized possession.
Elliott, the wife of Knights forward Adam Elliott, won the NRLW title with Newcastle in 2022.
She joined the Roosters the following season.
As part of inquiries by Newcastle City Police District, a search warrant was executed at a Hamilton South address on Wednesday 16 October.
Officers located and seized several items believed to have been stolen during the break and enter.
However, the 2024 premiership ring remained outstanding.
A 24-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Newcastle Police Station where he was charged with several offences.
He remains before the courts.
Then, on Friday 8 November, police received information about the ring from a business in Newcastle.
Officers attended and recovered the jewellery before continuing inquiries into the incident.
About 10am on Thursday 14 November, police arrested a 37-year-old man on Hunter Street.
He was taken to Newcastle Police Station where he was charged with receive stolen property.
He remains before the courts.
