Paul Merson has predicted Wolves v Nottingham Forest this weekend as he praised Gary O’Neil’s side.
Wolves managed to get back to winning ways when they beat Burnley on Tuesday in a 1-0 victory. The win halted a two-game losing streak and we hope has sparked some form back into the team.
Gary O’Neil will be hoping it is a result which acts as a catalyst for the coming games and helps fire Wolves up the table into the top half.
A win for Wolves this weekend would see them rise to 21 points and potentially to 10th in the table depending on other results.
Ahead of Saturday’s kick-off against Nottingham Forest, however, Paul Merson has been having his say on Wolves. In this, he heaped praise onto Old Gold and praised the work O’Neil has done at Molineux.
Paul Merson on Wolves
Writing in his weekly predictions column on SportsKeeda, Paul Merson couldn’t hold back his praise for Wolves who he admitted he likes.
“I like Wolves, they are a proper mid-table team and have done really well for themselves this season under Gary O’Neil. They got a good 1-0 win against Burnley and I expect them to have too much in their locker for Nottingham Forest,” Merson explained.
Continuing he made his scoreline prediction for the game on Saturday, “So I’m going for a 1-0 Wolves win.”
This is almost a bold call given how leaky Forest have been of late which could potentially mean Wolves score a few more than just one.
This is especially likely given the form of the likes of Matheus Cunha and Hwang Hee-Chan who have been almost unstoppable lately.
Wolves can become the mid-table leaders with win
Wolves will go into this very confident, after a close result against Arsenal and a win midweek, not to mention the fact Forest are coming off a 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Fulham.
It’s an exciting time for Wolves, with O’Neil’s ideas coming off and no game looking beyond them as they give every team they’ve faced massive problems.
If O’Neil can move up to 10th it would be a real achievement given the situation in which he took over the club.
