Reports in Turkey suggest an offer has been made to sign Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay, while Fulham consider an improved bid.
The Scotland international has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer, as they look to step up their pursuit for a new defensive midfielder.
It remains to be seen if United can find a buyer for Casemiro.
The Brazilian veteran looked miles past his best last season and there hasn’t been any significant interest in his signature.
McTominay is one United midfielder attracting interest from multiple clubs, but after making 43 appearances last season he made several positive contributions.
Haber Sarikirmizi cites comments Ali Naci Kucuk made to Raydo Gol when discussing Galatasaray’s pursuit of McTominay (H/t Sport Witness). The Turkish journalist claims the Super Lig giants, who Okan Buruk manages, have made an offer worth €15 million.
This laughable offer will be rejected if Galatasaray submits because McTominay is worth more than £30m.
However, Kucuk believes Galatasaray are set to be patient in hope that United will lower their asking price for McTominay before the transfer window closes.
“Galatasaray have submitted an offer of €15m to Manchester United,” said Kucuk. “Manchester United, on the other hand, wanted €30m. If Manchester United don’t get the offers they want, McTominsay could go to Galatasaray for €20m. Let me remind you, Galatasaray signed Mauro Icardi in September.”
Galatasaray are also said to be interested in Man City flop Kalvin Phillips.
United are presumably waiting on another club – from the Premier League – to make an offer that will blow Galatasaray’s pathetic bid out of the water.
According to Sky Sports, Fulham are expected to make an ‘improved offer’ for McTominay once they have wrapped up the signing of Arsenal’s Emile Smith Rowe.
The Cottagers reportedly had an opening bid of £17m rejected for McTominay earlier this month, but they’re willing to agree on an overall package worth £34m for Smith Rowe…
McTominay, who scored 10 goals for United last season, is definitely worth north of £30m.
