Juventus According to rumors, they are still willing to let go of Dusan Vlahovic and have found an intriguing replacement in Everton attacker Beto.
The 23-year-old Serbian striker is a costly addition to the Turin team, and sports director Cristiano Giuntoli is considering his options after he hasn’t scored many goals under Massimiliano Allegri.
In the summer, Juventus was willing to transfer Vlahovic to Chelsea in exchange for Romelu Lukaku, but the plan fell through due to differences about his market value. To spread out his bonuses, the team had been trying to extend his contract by a year, but the striker doesn’t seem to be buying into the concept.
In today’s Corriere dello Sport, pages two through seven describe how Giuntoli has begun compiling a list of candidates to take Vlahovic’s place at the center of Juventus’ attack.
Allegri’s top choice is Alvaro Morata, although he is obviously not cheap and just recently extended his contract with Atletico.
Jonathan David of Lille would also be too costly, but Giuntoli is now focusing on Beto, who moved from Udinese to Everton for a fee of about €30 million. With the Toffees, the Portuguese striker has failed to play regularly; his last Premier League start came in September.
