Max Kilman, the captain of Wolves, posted a message on social media following Sheffield United’s heartbreaking 2-1 loss yesterday.
Wanderers’ Premier League winning streak has come to an end, and their loss against the Blades was a highly contentious one.
Following a foul on George Baldock by Fabio Silva in the 100th minute, Wolves lost 2-1.
VAR Chris Kavanagh affirmed referee Robert Jones’ on-field ruling, and a penalty was awarded. Replays, however, unequivocally demonstrated that Baldock was already falling before Silva’s contact.
Gary Lineker described it as a “stinking decision,” and Danny Murphy and Martin Keown, two of his Match of the Day experts, both adamantly denied that it was a penalty.
Now that these choices are hurting the team and maybe costing the club important points, many Wolves supporters are furious.
Captain Kilman published a statement on social media expressing his anger.

However, the captain was unable to ignore the most recent VAR scandal.

Wolves have had four controversial calls this season, the most recent being the penalty call against Silva.
In Wolves’ opening match against Manchester United, Andre Onana clearly fouled Sasa Kalajdzic, but Wolves did not receive a penalty.
A extremely frustrated handball call against Joao Gomes at Luton Town then wounded Wolves. Though generally seen as ludicrous, this appeared to be true in law.
Additionally, Hwang Hee-chan appeared to have fouled Fabian Schar last weekend, leading to the awarding of a penalty against Newcastle United. That and the Silva one from yesterday were nearly identical.
The players for Wolves must be completely tired of VAR.
Kilman has so admitted to the officials’ ineptitude. Nelson Semedo and manager Gary O’Neil both voiced their dissatisfaction.
They must be quite frustrated. Every week, they put in a great deal of effort in training to position themselves to win a game, but then something absurd occurs, leaving the players empty-handed. The most annoying thing is that it doesn’t have to happen.
As O’Neil has stated, if there had been some competence, Wolves might be six points ahead of them right now. That represents a colossal change.
Wolves do, however, still need to get better. O’Neil’s team should ideally position itself so that these choices won’t be as expensive.
