MK Dons have agreed a deal for Halifax Town midfielder Kane Thompson-Sommers for an undisclosed fee, as per Pete O’Rourke.
MK Dons will be hoping to go one step further this time around, their first full campaign under Mike Williamson.
Last season Williamson managed to guide the Dons to a top six finish after joining the club from Gateshead.
They successfully reached the play-offs, but what happened whilst they were there is something fans would like to erase from their memories.
Crawley Town, the eventual winners, beat them 8-1 on aggregate over two legs with MK Dons barely putting up a fight across 180 minutes.
Now, they are on a quest to better that and recruitment is huge in doing so.
O’Rourke reports that MK Dons are set to give Thompson-Sommers a chance in the Football League with a deal agreed on deadline day.

The central midfielder scored once and assisted two more in the fifth tier of English football last time around.
The former Birmingham City youngster has also had a full season in the National League North and his performances over the past couple of campaigns have shown signs he is capable of competing at a higher level.
Salford City, Fleetwood Town and Motherwell were all said to be interested in him earlier this summer, but it is MK Dons where he seems to be heading on a permanent deal.
