According to Le Parisien journalist Marc Mechenoua, Billy Koumetio (21) is the subject of interest from Scottish Premier League club Dundee United. The Liverpool defender is a target for the Scottish outfit as they look to bolster their options in the defence during the summer transfer window.
Discussions are underway between Dundee and the Reds to negotiate a potential transfer for the former Lyon academy graduate.
Koumetio’s chances at Liverpool have been limited. The opportunity to move north and play in Scotland will offer him regular playing time that is not available at the Premier League club.
The former France U20 international’s contract at Anfield is set to expire in 2025 so Liverpool may be looking for a sale to avoid losing him on a free transfer.
Koumetio has not played a first team for the Reds since 2022 and has regularly found himself out on loan to gain minutes and experience. The 21-year-old’s most recent loan spell was with EFL Championship side Blackburn Rovers where he made 1 appearance.
