Dundee are poised to secure their sixth signing of the summer with the addition of QPR full-back Ziyad Larkeche on a season-long loan. The 21-year-old left-back, who has represented France at the youth level up to the U/20s, is set to move north of the border, as reported by the Scottish Sun.
Larkeche began his career in the prestigious Paris Saint-Germain academy before moving to Fulham in 2020. He gained experience during a loan spell at League One side Barnsley in September 2022, where he made 18 appearances. Despite not featuring for Fulham’s first team, Larkeche transferred to QPR last summer and played 20 times in the Championship during the 2022-23 season under managers Gareth Ainsworth and Marti Cifuentes.
Capable of playing both as a left-back and a left winger, Larkeche is seen as a versatile asset for Dundee. The club hopes he will make a significant impact similar to last season’s standout loanee, Owen Beck, who excelled at left wing-back.
The deal is expected to be finalized on Monday, just in time for Larkeche to be available for Dundee’s Premiership opener against rivals Dundee United in the Dundee derby on Sunday.
