The Derby County youngster is set to be handed a start by Paul Warne in the EFL Cup.
The Rams are set to face off in a trip to Barrow, with Derby County hoping to extend their cup-winning run after beating Chesterfield in the first round of the EFL Cup.
It is expected that Paul Warne will put out a second-string side in order to rest key players for the Championship, and the likes of Ben Osborn and Josh Vickers will likely be absent as a result of injuries.
It is expected that new loan signing from Wolves, Tawanda Chirewa, will be involved in some sort of capacity in the trip to Barrow, alongside Derby County striker Dajaune Brown, who contributed an assist in the first round against Chesterfield.
The young striker will be hoping to showcase his abilities after what is a golden opportunity set to be handed to him by Warne.
Brown will be hoping to once again impress Warne in the upcoming cup fixture amid the fact that the attacker has been weighed up for a loan exit from Derby County.
If Brown is able to take advantage of his opportunity, there could be second thoughts on whether he could potentially do a job for Warne’s side this season.
The striker impressed in his previous loan spell in the National League as he managed six goals, as well as four assists with Gateshead.
The 18-year-old is yet to be handed an appearance in the league so far this season.
The young goalscorer clearly has the abilities to turn into a brilliant striker after what was a fairly scintillating spell with Gateshead, where they finished in the play-offs.
With his bags of pace and clear goal scoring ability, there is no reason why he couldn’t potentially perform at Championship level, and this could very well be considered if he can perform to the best of his abilities against Barrow.
It will be likely that another attacker is targeted before the window slams shut, but with Brown in and around the squad, the alternative option of keeping hold and utilising the Nottingham-born striker should very much be considered, especially after he showed his abilities in small doses against Chesterfield.
There is every chance that Brown reaches the top in his career, and whilst a loan move would benefit him hugely, a chance should be given to the youngster to show that he can play at this level.
