Charlie McCann, a midfielder for Forest Green Rovers, is reportedly attracting interest from Exeter City, per the Daily Record.
The League Two player may be the target of a last-minute raid by Exeter City before the transfer market closes this evening.
The Daily Record stated that Notts County and Lincoln City have lately expressed interest in McCann, 21.
According to the same source’s most recent update on his circumstances, Exeter has entered the competition to sign him.
For the remainder of the season, McCann might be seen by Exeter as a way to strengthen their middle-of-the-park alternatives.
In the first half of this fourth-tier season, he has made 29 appearances for Forest Green, with one goal and two assists.
Despite just joining the team in January of last year, when they were still in League One, McCann was unable to keep them from being relegated in his first season.
Despite their on-field struggles, he has been a regular for the Gloucestershire team in the middle of the park over the past 12 months. He is under contract at New Lawn until 2026, so they are not under any pressure to cash in on him just yet unless the right offer for his services is made.
Prior to heading up to Scotland in 2021 to join Rangers, McCann was a player for Coventry City and Manchester United.
Before moving back south, the Northern Ireland international played primarily for the Gers B squad in the Lowland League during his one and a half year stay in Glasgow.
His situation is now up in the air as Exeter become the latest team to be credited with an interest.
