Matty Godden has issued a farewell message to Coventry City and the club’s fans following his transfer to League One Charlton Athletic.
The 32-year-old striker has moved to the League One club for an ‘undisclosed’ fee, signing a two year contract at The Valley to bring an end to five years with the Sky Blues.
Taking to instagram to say his good-byes, Godden wrote: “On behalf of me and my family I want to thank you all the most incredible 5 years. From Champions of League 1 to 50 goals, it’s something I’m very proud of.
“I want to thank you all for your incredible support through the times at St Andrew’s and then to a full house at the CBS. A thank you to the gaffer and all his staff from Amanda & Marshy the kit guys to the physios and backroom staff.”
He added: “A massive thank you to Adi Viveash for developing me into a miles better player than what I arrived and helping me with the tough times off the pitch when I first arrived. I also want to thank an unsung hero Richard Overson who without him none of what’s happened would be possible. See you all soon. Godders”
