They have reportedly made a bid for Brest winger Karamoko Dembele, who impressed with 21 goal contributions during his loan spell at Blackpool last season. Portsmouth and Derby County are also said to be interested in the 21-year-old, but Pompey boss John Mousinho has publicly denied any current bid for Dembele.
This denial from Portsmouth could give Sheffield Wednesday an advantage in the race for Dembele, as they face less immediate competition. If the Owls act swiftly, they might secure the winger’s services before other clubs enter the bidding. Although Dembele will want regular playing time after a challenging start to his career, he would have to compete with players like Jamal Lowe, Olaf Kobacki, Anthony Musaba, and Djeidi Gassama for a spot in the starting lineup.
While there has been a lull in transfer activity since the reported bid for Dembele, Sheffield Wednesday could still finalize a deal if they decide to push hard for the talented young winger.
