Late in the second period, with the score tied 1-1, Mason Lohrei set up Coyle with a perfect pass, allowing him to score a power-play goal that broke his season-long goal drought. Coyle acknowledged the contribution of his teammate, crediting Lohrei for making the play easy.
Although pleased with the goal, Coyle was more focused on his overall performance, emphasizing the importance of moving well and winning battles on the ice. Montgomery praised Coyle’s performance, noting his success in all areas of the game and expressing confidence in his return to form.
Earlier, Montgomery had commented that Coyle was still finding his rhythm but was a reliable veteran whom the team had faith in. Coyle agreed, explaining that he needed to simplify his play and take a more active role in the game, a sentiment he believes the whole team could benefit from.
