    As an individual who draws Premier League "interest," Matt O'Riley ignores thoughts of leaving Celtic.

    The midfield player is apparently drawing interest from south of the border after making an outstanding performance this season with Celtics.

    Matt O’Riley isn’t thinking about leaving Celtic, despite rumors that Brentford and Brighton of the English Premier League are interested in the Hoops midfielder.

    Reportedly, the Hoops midfielder was being considered by the two elite clubs. However, Record Sport has learned that the 22-year-old former Fulham graduate is not interested in leaving the Scottish Premiership champions anytime soon. Last month, he signed a new contract that will keep him with the team through at least 2027, following the rejection of summer bids from Leeds United and Bologna.

    Former Scotland, Liverpool, and Celtic icon Kenny Dalglish called O’Riley’s £1.5 million signing from MK Dons during his first season at the club, calling it an “absolute steal.” Dalglish hopes O’Riley stays with the team for the long run. “I believe he cost in the region of £1.5 million from MK Dons, which is an absolute steal,” Dalglish said in his Sunday Post column. His game has improved, and he has grown as a person. Even at 22, he still has a lot of growth ahead of him, and he seems to be flourishing under Brendan.

    “Aiding him with a long-term deal made sense from a financial standpoint. Additionally, he will gain from having Callum McGregor by his side. Callum is a very skilled and informed football player. If Celtics supporters believed that this squad could play together for an additional 18 months, that would be fantastic.

    Interest in a number of players will be high, and their effective business strategy is to sell for high transfer fees. But it would be fantastic for Brendan to believe he could have the players he desired for the duration of the following campaign. That might result in something truly unique.
