After his performance against Nottingham Forest on Sunday, analyst Neil Mellor lauded midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai of Liverpool.
Szoboszlai has been a major contributor to the Liverpool team this season and is hard to overlook.
According to Neil Mellor, a current LFC TV analyst and former striker for Liverpool, Liverpool’s official website has cited him on this.
Diogo Jota opened the score in Liverpool’s 3-0 victory at Anfield on Sunday afternoon, giving them another victory.
Then, with the help of some appalling Forest defending, Szoboszlai set up Nunez for a 2-0 lead before his long pass found Mohamed Salah for a third.

Liverpool’s acquisition of RB Leipzig for £60 million this past summer appears to have been a great deal, especially in light of Szoboszlai’s huge influence.
This season, just three Premier League players had more important passes than the Hungarian: Bruno Fernandes, Kieran Trippier, and James Maddison.
Szoboszlai isn’t only creative, though; the Liverpool midfielder has benefited from his defensive work rate and ball-moving skills.
As an LFC TV analyst, former Reds striker Mellor has now lauded Szoboszlai.
Mellor observed that despite the fact that Szoboszlai is a subject of constant conversation, his importance to the Liverpool team makes him an unavoidable presence.
Mellor acknowledged that Szoboszlai had helped Salah, but he was second only to Darwin Nunez in forward sprints against Forest.
Every game, we discuss Szoboszlai, but his involvement is too great for us to ignore. Mo Salah’s assist was simply outstanding; he always makes himself accessible to his teammates, Mellor added.
“What I particularly admire about him is that he sets us up for success and is such a good ball runner; on that particular day, only Darwin Nunez beat him in forward sprints. He is incredibly good at reading the game, intercepting passes, and fitting in with Liverpool’s core values. He is also very good at influencing games,” he continued.
In my opinion, Szoboszlai can still improve.
Szoboszlai’s performances this season will terrorize Premier League defenses, who will recognize the threat of a goalscorer and creator in him.
The concerning thing is that Szoboszlai may improve even more during the course of the upcoming Liverpool years.
Given that Szoboszlai is only 23 years old, his finest years should still be ahead of him.
Liverpool appears to have locked down their next midfield star for years to come; therefore, the Reds were smart to jump in and pay his release clause before other teams entered the race.
Szoboszlai may soon be considered one of Europe’s best midfield players if he continues to show himself.
